VOLPE RECEIVES SUPPORT OF CSEA, YONKERS FEDERATION OF TEACHERS, AND WESTCHESTER-PUTNAM CENTRAL LABOR BODY

Domenic Volpe, candidate for Westchester County Legislator, has received a steady stream of union endorsements in the last several weeks. Just this week he received the endorsement of the Civil Service Employees Association (CSEA), Yonkers Federation of Teachers, and the Westchester-Putnam Central Labor Body.

"I am proud to accept the endorsements of the largest organized labor associations in the county," said Volpe. "These working men and women are lining up behind my candidacy because I am the only candidate in this race who has a plan to reduce taxes, bring down the cost of living for Westchester residents, and has a record of working with folks from all political persuasions."

The CSEA represents state employees; local government and school district employees, and certain private sector employees and daycare providers throughout the state. With approximately 265,000 members, it is the largest constituent unit in the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Union.

The Westchester-Putnam Central Labor Body is comprised of 17 different unions, spanning two counties and includes the AFT and NYUT, both teachers unions. The Westchester-Putnam Counties AFL-CIO Central Labor Council is the heart of the labor movement in our area.

The Yonkers Federation of Teachers is a local affiliated with the New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) and the American Federation of Teachers (AFT). It is the largest teachers union in Westchester County. Many teachers in the Yonkers City School District call northern Westchester their home.
