Marybeth McGowan jumped into politics last year as a local Obama for President Campaign organizer. The youngest of six children, McGowan was born and raised in Westchester, moving to Peekskill 14 years ago. She currently serves on the city’s Human Relations Commission. Professionally, McGowan is a medical billing director, working in Manhattan.
“Like many, I moved to Peekskill because I saw great potential for this city,” said McGowan. “Until recently, our city leaders lacked a fresh perspective and became complacent. I firmly believe change begins at home, and know that I will bring a unique perspective as someone who has been here long enough to appreciate the city’s history and understanding the need to build a more stable future.”
